Summer Day in Keuruu – The City of Keuruu 40 Years

The year 2026 marks a significant anniversary for Keuruu, as the town celebrates its 40th anniversary. One of the main events of the celebrations is the Keuruu Summer Day, organized in collaboration with Jyväskylän Kesä on July 3. The all-day celebration will take the audience to three churches, and the day will culminate in a moving concert by Samuli Edelmann.

Before the concert, the Summer Day festivities can begin as early as noon at Keuruu Old Church, where guided tours open to everyone and free of charge will be held starting at midday. In the afternoon, the group will move to Pihlajavesi Wilderness Church, where the director-actor Anna-Mari Laulumaa conjures a site-specific theater performance whose story draws from the history of the old church and the human fates experienced in the area. We will tell you more about these other events of the day closer to the time.
