From Lawn to Meadow - Work Party

Sat 4.7. klo 10.00
Seminaarinmäki

Free admission

Would you like to do a small deed for biodiversity and, at the same time, learn how you could transform unnecessary lawn areas in your own yard into species-rich meadow areas?

This year, a patch of urban lawn on the grounds of the University of Jyväskylä's Botanical Garden will once again be transformed into a blooming urban meadow, loved by pollinators and butterflies, through volunteer work. The "From Lawn to Meadow" volunteer event will be held this year At the western end of Aallonpuisto on Seminaarinmäki, in the grassy area between the Sports building (L) and the tennis court Saturday, July 4, from 10:00–14:00. You can come for the whole duration or for a shorter period! At the same time, you can come and ask the botanical garden designer for tips on establishing and maintaining meadow areas in your own yard.

Tools and cold drinks provided by the organizer.

No weather reservation.

The volunteer work event is organized in collaboration with the University of Jyväskylä Botanical Garden, Jyväskylän Kesän, University Properties of Finland (SYK Oy), and TL-Maint Property Services, which manages the university’s parks.
