Pianist-conductor Lasse Hirvi put together a successful tribute concert for the 2025 Jyväskylä Festival in honour of Stevie Wonder's 75th birthday. The concert was a great success at the festival, and as a follow-up to it, the Masterpiece Orchestra, led by conductor Lasse Hirvi, put together a concert ensemble of Elton John's music.

Elton John has enriched the world's pop and rock music with his countless classic songs since the late 1960s. His career spans over seven decades, and his records have sold over 450 million copies.

The Masterpiece Orchestra, led by Lasse Hirvi, with brilliant soloists Antti Kleemola to Emma Balbatsu conjured up a swinging tribute to this pop music giant. During the evening, you will hear Elton John's most beloved hits seasoned with authentic flair!

Antti Kleemola is a long-time songwriter, singer, and band instructor. He has composed a large number of songs for countless top artists and played in several bands, as well as releasing several of his own albums. He also participated in the Finnish Eurovision final.

Emma Balbatsu is a strong, versatile singer and vocal pedagogue from Jyväskylä. She has, among other things, led the party band Gringo for a long time and performed a concert ensemble of Adele's music called "A Night of Adele".

Lasse Hirvi has been a long-time pianist and conductor. He has worked as a professional pianist since 1979, performing in a wide range of musical genres. He served as the conductor for the Helsinki City Theatre from 1989 to 2014, and has been the conductor for the Jyväskylä City Theatre since 2014. He has performed with countless Finland's top artists in various settings, including his own song clubs, concerts, and gigs.
