CALLA

Finnish a cappella's bright new star CALLA Jyväskylä Festival is coming to perform on Saturday, July 4th! Formed in 2023, this six-member professional vocal group will perform both original pop music and their signature covers of the most beloved hits of the 2000s, as seen on their social media.

CALLA's goal is to bring vocal ensemble music to a wider audience. The group aims to achieve this by, among other things, writing its own pop-infused music on themes that resonate with young adults, and by actively producing content for social media: CALLA's cover versions have quickly garnered millions of views and thousands of followers, as well as artist collaborations with artists such as Bee and Ege Zulu (Instagram & Tiktok @callavox).

A new Helsinki-based ensemble has already gained a foothold in the Finnish a cappella scene. CALLA's work has been recognized with grants and the ”Rookie of the Year” award (Sulasol Choir Gala 2024), as well as invitations to the finals of the esteemed Tampere Vocal Music Festival and Aarhus Vocal Festival ensemble competitions. Additionally, the ensemble has been featured as a main performer at several Finnish music festivals and in multidisciplinary collaborations with visual artist Johanna Oraksen .
