In our closing concert on July 9, Hector & His Powerband will perform under the theme NOSTALGIA NOW! The concert will feature Hector’s music spanning six decades, as the artist performs for the first time at the Jyväskylä Festival. Come enjoy the winds of nostalgia and celebrate the 69-year-old Jyväskylä Festival!

Hector’s music career began as a teenager in 1966 when his debut album “Palkkasoturi” (Mercenary), a cover version of folk singer Buffy Sainte-Marie’s international hit, was released. Hector truly broke through in the early 1970s with his first album “Nostalgia,” which was followed by decades of hit parades, numerous gold and platinum records, four Emma awards, and the Juha Vainio and Reino Helismaa awards. In 2008, Hector was also awarded the Pro Finlandia Medal of Honor.
