Päätöskonsertti: Anneli Saaristo
Anneli Saaristo is an exceptional, uncompromising artist, whose repertoire covers a variety of genres. The relationship between music and lyrics has always been especially important for Saaristo, and she has personally selected most of her recorded songs.
For the Jyväskylä Festival closing concert Saaristo is accompanied by conductor Lasse Hirvi and his orchestra, which allows Saaristo to perform songs not usually heard in her concerts. The concert’s programme consists of Saaristo’s biggest hits, as well as some of the artist’s own favourites, perhaps lesser known to the public. In between the songs, Saaristo is interviewed by music reporter Tarja Närhi.
Many know Saaristo for the song La dolce vita from the 1989 Eurovision Song Contest. Saaristo is also known for hits such as Appelsiinipuita aavikkoon, her version of Veikko Lavi’s Evakon laulu, and her covers of popular international songs. Several recordings of Saaristo’s concerts have also been produced for television.
