The closing concert of Jyväskylä Festival brings on stage one of our nation’s most successful artists, Katri Helena, performing together with Tessa Virta Orchestra.

The concert on 11th July is a part of the singer’s 60th anniversary tour. The anniversary is also celebrated through the publishing of her biography in April.

Katri Helena Kalaoja is one of Finland’s most popular singers, and has recorded numerous beloved evergreens. Her recording career began in 1963, but her breakthrough came the following year with the hit Puhelinlangat laulaa. Her other hits include Anna mulle tähtitaivas, Vasten auringon siltaa and Katson sineen taivaan, among many others. Her greatest hits will also be heard in the concert.

In a 2022 interview, Katri Helena stated that her career is coming to its close. However, she has not made any official decisions about ending her career yet. The Jyväskylä Festival closing concert is the artist’s only concert in the Jyväskylä area in the near future.
